Easy Ways to Refresh Your Living Space

Are you feeling tired of looking at the same old interiors in your home? Do you want to refresh your living space without breaking the bank? There are several easy tips and tricks you can try to revamp your home's interior design. With a few simple changes, you can transform your living space into a new and vibrant one.

 Declutter your space

If you follow my blog, by now you know, this is always where we begin! The first step towards refreshing your home's interior design is to declutter your space. Remove from your living space anything you no longer need or use. This will make your home look more organized and tidy.  I love the saying by William Morrison that says, “Have nothing in your home that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”  This approach is true, but also can be adapted throughout the years.  Your personal taste changes and the accessories that you once loved are maybe now not so inspiring where they currently are situated. Try to repurpose accessories or repurpose them in a new location.  One simple tip is to take that item whether it is a sculpture, candle, or jar...place it on top of a stack of books, adding some height and dimension to the overall arrangement.

 Add some greenery

Adding plants to your living space is an excellent way to bring life and energy into your home. You can opt for small potted plants, hanging planters, or a large indoor tree. Not only do plants look beautiful, but they also purify the air in your home. One look that stands the test of time is using faux succulents, preserved moss, branches or dried flowers in your home.  These not only look great, but last much longer than fresh flowers.

Rearrange your furniture

Rearranging your furniture is an easy way to refresh your living space. Try moving your furniture around to create a new focal point or to open up the space. Or try an edit -  you may also want to consider removing some furniture pieces to create more space.

 Switch up your lighting

Changing the lighting in your home can completely change the mood and atmosphere of a room. Consider switching to softer, warmer light bulbs or adding some ambient lighting, such as floor lamps or table lamps.

 Add some texture

Adding texture to your living space can make it feel more inviting and cozy. Consider adding some textured cushions, throws, or rugs. You can also add some texture to your walls with wallpaper or a textured paint finish. Everybody knows throw pillows are a great way to add a fresh style or introduce a new color to your space, but don’t forget the throw blankets…local stores these days have some great blankets in bright colors or patterns that can add lots of character to your sofa or chair. This is what invites you and your guests to sit down and get comfortable.
